Now More Than Ever Adopt Foster Kids in Arizona – It’s Essential

The world can be hard enough for kids living in foster care who experience abandonment, loneliness, pain, and sadness. But imagine what happens when life is turned upside down for society, and foster children do not have a forever family to keep them safe and protected. When society faces issues like the current COVID-19 outbreak and quarantine, we ask adoptive families to adopt foster kids in Arizona – it is vital to their safety. Without forever families to love and care for foster kids, too many children may share common spaces and individual health may not be able to be prioritized. Will you consider the urgent need to adopt foster kids in Arizona to ensure that they have a safe, healthy, and loving family?

Nurture, Compassion, and Humor can Change a Foster Kid’s Life Forever

Adoptive parents will act in the best interest of their child, providing consistency and stability. Over 15,000 foster kids in Arizona alone need a safe and permanent home right now. Adopting foster kids in Arizona prevents vulnerable children from hopping from foster house to foster house, many moving 3-6 times a year, changing caregivers, schools, and friends.  The permanent protection of a new family is everything foster kids hope and pray for.

A home full of patience, nurturing, compassion, and humor can significantly change the world of a kid who grew up in foster care. For maybe the first time ever, they will experience feeling safe, being unconditionally loved, and being fully provided for. Building Arizona Families facilitates families’ adoption of foster kids in Arizona and from around the U.S.  The forever family must be Arizona residents who are willing to open their hearts and homes to provide a promising, bright future foster children didn’t think they would ever have. The statistics about foster children who are never adopted and age out of the system and move into adulthood alone are bleak.  A new family will provide the environment to build healthy relationships. Adding a fun sense of humor to family life also trains foster children to manage stressful times and appropriately express feelings, as well as learning to laugh and have fun together as children should.

Building Arizona Families is still working hard to provide forever homes for foster children in need of a permanent family. Visit us HERE to learn more about adopting foster kids in Arizona, and throughout the U.S., as well as other programs our local Arizona adoption agency offers. All children deserve to live a beautiful and happy life, and adopting foster kids in Arizona can provide them with the home they dream of.

Adopt Foster Children in Arizona or Around the U.S. to Provide Crucial Nurturing

Adopt foster children in Arizona or around the U.S. to provide essential nurturing all children need to grow up to be amazing adults. Children begin to understand the world around them through the relationships they experience with parents, loved ones, and caregivers. Children are continually developing physically, emotionally, socially, behaviorally, and intellectually. Children in foster care have the incredibly challenging task of developing into healthy adults with the life they are experiencing. On average, foster children move homes 2-3 times per year.  Some change foster families that they have begun to build relationships with, some change group homes.  It often means changing schools, so a changing of teachers and friends is also a factor.

There is little that remains the same for foster children.  A safe, stable, and nurturing forever home is essential to a child’s fundamental development. When you adopt Arizona foster children or foster children around the U.S. in need of a forever family, you are giving them the opportunity to have a positive life and develop appropriately-as all children should have the opportunity to do.

Qualities of Relationships and Environments Make a Difference in a Child’s Life

Children need loving environments and healthy relationships in their life. Safety, stability, and feeling nurtured should be the foundation for every child. Sadly, children in foster care are not always provided the care they truly need.

The three critical qualities needed for children to develop healthily are-

Safety: The extent to which a child is free from fear and secure from physical or psychological harm in their environment.

Stability: The predictability and consistency in a child’s relationships and living environment.

Nurturing: Children need physical, emotional, and developmental needs met with sensitivity and consistency.

Adopting Arizona foster children or foster children from around the U.S. gives children in foster care a life full of love and hope. Not only does adopting a foster child bless their life forever, but it will also positively change the type of person they grow up to be. Adopting Arizona foster children changes a life that is often full of sadness, emptiness, and fear into a stable, loving platform that they can spring into the future with.

Bless a Child With a Miracle and Adopt Arizona Foster Children

The holiday season was filled with family traditions, special dinners, and spending time with the ones you love. Many children in foster care did not have the opportunity to enjoy these holiday celebrations. By adopting foster children in Arizona, you can bless a child with a miracle! Foster children are waiting for their miracle – to finally have a forever family and a place to call home. During this new year, remember the children that were left behind as we enjoyed special holiday celebrations, presents under the tree, and our forever families.

Make 2020 Holidays Bright by Adopting Foster Children in Arizona

The foster care system makes loving attachment very difficult. Children can be very lonely and really struggle without the security of a family. During the holidays, family memories can be especially painful for children who have suffered abuse and neglect, as they contrast what they had, don’t have, and what children at school have. It’s hard to even imagine the hurt these children have experienced through no fault of their own. By adopting foster children in Arizona, new family traditions can be created, and the pain can begin to disappear. As foster children become part of their new, loving, forever family the journey toward healing and wholeness begins.

Please consider adopting a foster child – there are hundreds of thousands of foster children in the U.S. and over 13,000 in Arizona alone! A child’s life is truly changed through the miracle of forever families. Will you consider starting the journey to adopt a foster child in Arizona? And if you can’t, please share the message with those around you. We should not have orphaned children right here in our own Arizona backyard. Giving a child a life with happiness and joy is truly a miracle.

Building Arizona Families encourages men, women, and families to bless a child with a life full of love and family by adopting foster children in Arizona. Adopting Foster Children in Arizona Fills the Missing Piece in Families

The holidays can be a very difficult time of year for children in foster care.  They long to be part of a stable forever family and a safe, loving home. There are thousands of children hoping and praying someone will love them forever and give them a place to belong.  There are over 13,000 foster children in Arizona alone and approximately 500,000 nationwide. Adopting foster children in Arizona gives them a home to celebrate birthdays, learn how to ride a bike, and have a chance to hope for a future they want.

Jessica and Chris Filled the Missing Piece in Their Family by Adopting a Foster Child in Arizona

Jessica and Chris are Arizonans who were able to change the life of a foster child forever. You can watch them share their adoption journey on our Youtube Channel, HERE. In the video, Jessica shares that she was adopted at birth. Her mother would always tell her she was not born in her womb, but her heart. Jessica knew one day she wanted to bless the life of a child in need and give them a forever family. After Jessica and Chris learned they were not able to conceive a child, they immediately knew adoption was the way they would fill the missing piece in their family. And that missing piece was Raiden.

“Raiden was an answer to our prayers. We couldn’t have asked for a better blessing,” gushed Chris. Chris also shares that times may not have always been easy, but they were fortunate enough to have Building Arizona Families walking them through the adoption process. Raiden was living in the foster care system in Texas, and Building Arizona Families was able to connect Chris, Jessica, and Raiden and provide the support and guidance needed while adopting Raiden.

Building Arizona Families Helps Connect Forever Families

No matter the adoption journey, whether it’s an Arizona family adopting Arizona foster children or foster children anywhere in the US, adoption is always beautiful! Raiden was the missing piece in Jessica and Chris’s life, and now he has his very own forever family. But there are still thousands of foster children in Arizona and around the U.S. waiting to meet their forever family. Find out how you can help at We Are Their Future, HERE.

Protecting Foster Children with American Adoptions

Children and teens in foster care can get caught in a heartbreaking cycle of instability and loneliness. Moving from place to place an average of 3-4 times per year, sometimes with their earthly belongings carried in a plastic garbage bag, and growing increasingly emotionally shut down without stable, permanent relationships.  As foster children move from foster home to foster home, they usually have to move from school to school, increasing the likelihood of negative outcomes.

Thousands of children across the country experience the negative impacts of foster care if loving families don’t intervene through an American adoption of foster children. Over 13,000 children are living in foster care in Arizona right now. Children come into the foster care system as a result of being abused and/or neglected. Children in foster care whose parental rights are severed are truly orphans here in the United States. They need the opportunity to have a positive, loving family and a bright future like other American children. Building Arizona Families helps forever families open their arms to foster children in desperate need of loving and stable homes.

All Children in Foster Care Deserve a Loving, Stable, and Fruitful Life

Our recent adoption blog described the ways Building Arizona Families protects families and children during their adoption journey, read more HERE. Imagine a life living in roughly 28 different places by the time you were only 16 years old. Foster children move an average of at least three per year, and many begin this cycle by the time they are only five years old. Sadly, the injustices children in foster care have to endure is all too common. With too few permanent homes available and family connections typically severed, too many children in foster care face the unfortunate reality of aging out of the system at the age of 18. At that point, the list of risks significantly increase.

Instead of allowing these American children to languish year after year in foster care, we can help! Families or single applicants in Arizona can determine their eligibility for an American adoption and give a vulnerable foster child the life they deserve. At Building Arizona Families, we help single applicants, couples, or families change the future of foster children with our Forever Families U.S adoption program. Every child needs love in their heart and deserves parents who care about their well-being throughout their life. Adopting foster children through an American adoption at Building Arizona Families truly saves a child’s life from further harm and provides the bright future they deserve.

Building Arizona Families Serves Children in Foster Care Through American Adoptions

We Are Their Future invites you to consider adopting an American foster child. Remember, contrary to what many people believe, you do not have to be a foster parent first to adopt American foster children. We will help you walk through the direct adoption of children in the U.S. foster care system. Download the Building Arizona Families foster child adoption info kit HERE.

Single Women and Men can Change the Lives of Arizona Foster Children

Over 13,000 Arizona foster children are living in foster care right now, and over 400,000 children are living in foster care in the United States. Unfortunately, foster children move an average of 4 – 6 times per year from foster home to foster home. This means vulnerable children can’t develop loving, stable relationships, and they often switch schools when they move as well.  That’s not counting the number of children who enter foster care and are sent back home only to re-enter the system again within the same year as a result of dangerous abuse and/or neglect.  The end result of all of this movement is that foster children, who are already traumatized as a result of abuse, grow up without the healing love of a family.  If the children “age out” of the system at 18, having never been adopted, they are at a much higher risk of drug use, homelessness, and mental health issues.

The need for loving forever families is urgent.  Married couples and single people alike can be eligible to adopt children in foster care. These children who have already suffered so much are in desperate need of loving, stable homes where they can grow to become confident and successful adults.

Single Applicants are Encouraged to Adopt Arizona Foster Children

Single men and women can adopt Arizona foster children. An individual living in Arizona does not need to be foster care certified to adopt foster children in Arizona.  They can be certified to adopt through a successful home study. For approximately six months, the child will be welcomed into the home and then can be legally adopted. Learn more about the requirements to adopt Arizona foster children HERE.

The majority of foster children are five years of age or older. In some cases, younger children are available to be adopted. There are also sibling groups or children who have a higher level of need who are waiting to be adopted. All children in the foster system deserve to feel the stability and love of a forever family. Download our Adopting Foster Children Information Guide HERE.

We Need Men and Women to Make a Difference in the Lives of Foster Children in Arizona

Foster children need reliable and safe adults to help turn their life away from loneliness, abuse, and/or neglect. Foster children can have difficult times forming and creating bonds with safe and supportive adults. Parents don’t have to be perfect, but they have to be safe and loving to help a foster child heal and grow into a life of purpose and trust.

Adopt Foster Children in Arizona to Start a Momentous School Year

The start of the new school year is here, and many kids are excitedly starting this new adventure. Shopping for new school clothes and supplies, meeting new friends, and learning new things is what most kids are thinking about at the beginning of the school year. Unfortunately, every year there are foster children scared of a new start, maybe wearing old clothes or not prepared with supplies. Every child deserves to enjoy these milestone moments.  Adopting foster children in Arizona can provide the stability, security, and loving support needed to be successful in school.

Children Shouldn’t Start the School Year Off Scared and Alone

The first day of school can make any child nervous. Imagine showing up on the first day of school without the love and support from a parent or the security of a stable home. Foster children change homes/schools on average one to two times per year, losing on average 4-6 months of academic progress each time.  When they move foster homes, they often carry all of their worldly possessions in a plastic garbage bag. They have already faced negativity, loneliness, abuse and/or neglect. Without a loving and supportive home, foster children are not prepared for school, causing them to struggle considerably. This is why it is so important for our communities to step up and adopt Arizona foster children. A forever home changes a foster child’s entire life, providing a stable foundation for a flourishing future.

Students Can Flourish When Adopted Into a Stable and Supportive Forever Home

Statistics illustrate a correlation between the length of time a child remains in foster care and how far behind they fall in school.  Kids in foster care are twice as likely to develop learning disabilities and six times more likely to have behavioral problems. Adopting foster children provides the safe home, loving and supportive family, and stability children need to succeed academically. These environmental benefits allow a child adopted from foster care the opportunity to flourish and exceed their expectations for their life.

For kids living in group homes, starting a new school year without new supplies, good clothes, or a forever family adds so much stress and anxiety to their young lives. A foster child’s future path is limited to what is available to them. When a family decides to adopt foster children, they are blessing a child with the opportunity to have success and love.

Building Arizona Families Encourages Us to Adopt Foster Children

Children enter foster care through no fault of their own because of abuse and/or neglect. They need your help! Building Arizona Families is privileged to help Arizona families seeking to adopt foster children throughout the United States. Our mission is to find adoptive homes for as many children in foster care as we possibly can. Loving forever families provide a beautiful life for a child in need through adopting foster children. Every child needs a home full of love, warmth, and support. Blessing a vulnerable foster child with a  safe home and loving family can inspire others to do the same.

Each year, over 20,000 children in foster care age out of the system without a permanent family. After leaving foster care at 18 years old, these children continue to face abuse and neglect in their lives. Families are stepping up and changing some of these children’s lives every day, and we need more families just like them to adopt foster children and give them a brighter future full of love and opportunity.

Building Arizona Families is Changing Lives

Adopt foster children

There are many beautiful adoption stories Building Arizona Families can share. Arizona families are brought closer together by choosing to open their lives to adopt foster children. Jessica and Chris were one of these families to step up for a foster child desperately wishing for a safe, loving forever family. They welcomed Raiden lovingly into their home and gave him the security and identity of a loving family that he had never known before. This selfless decision changed the course of Raiden’s life. He will grow up secure in the love of family, which will launch him into a bright future.  Watch Raiden’s story HERE.

Children in the foster care system are just children – they haven’t done anything wrong.  They desperately want love, acceptance, and to be treated like they matter. They don’t want to move from place to place with their belongings in a garbage bag.  They don’t want to have to keep switching schools.  They want bicycles, pets, and to get to go to a ball game or the movies.  They want to be treated like children who have families that love them. With close to 500,000 children still in foster care in the United States, the need is urgent. Building Arizona Families wants to find as many of these children forever homes before they age out and no longer have the chance.

Foster Children Are Just Children Wanting Love and Acceptance

How To Save A Child’s Life During National Child Abuse Prevention Month

There are thousands of Arizona children in desperate need of love and support. Through no fault of their own, they have experienced heartbreaking abuse and/or neglect. No child should ever have to endure the pain and sadness of being abused by the person who is supposed to love and care for them. Foster to adopt in AZ gives these children a chance at life and a forever family to love them always.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month raises public awareness during April to increase the efforts and resources necessary to protect children from abuse. Awareness regarding how to help protect and nurture vulnerable children in our own communities can truly save a child’s life.

Why They Need Heroes Now

In January 2019, it was reported that over 14,500 children are in the Arizona foster care system. The majority of these children are victims of gross negligence, physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or trafficking. Sadly, this maltreatment usually occurs through the hand of someone they know. Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse can cause severe pain, delayed development, and significant behavioral issues.

Once these abused and/or neglected children are taken into state care, it does not mean their troubles are over. In 2017, it was reported that at the national level, 75% of children in foster care are neglected, 18% are physically abused, and 7% are sexually abused.

This is horrific and does not even take into consideration that the average foster child will move from where they live 4-5 times, and change schools at least once a year. It is no wonder that they are more at risk for teen pregnancy, homelessness, PTSD, and poor educational outcomes.

This is happening in our neighborhoods, right now. It’s why children in Arizona need you now. They need heroes to save them from the bleak outcomes they can expect if they stay in the foster care system. Foster children all over Arizona and from around the country are hoping for a loving and caring adult to rescue them and welcome them into a forever family.

How To Be The Answer to A Foster Child’s Prayer

Children who experience abuse and/or neglect need support and love from a caring adult that understands the consequences of their trauma. A child needs to feel safe and needs to feel supported in expressing and managing their intense emotions. Traumatic events can cause a child not to have the ability to cope and have appropriate physical and emotional responses. By helping them, or providing the help they need, children can begin to heal, to develop loving, trusting relationships, and to experience bright futures.

No Need to Foster to Adopt AZ Foster Children

Every Arizona citizen can help make sure every child can grow up in a healthy and stable environment. Building Arizona Families does direct adoption placements for Arizona families. The adoptive family does not need to be foster care certified. Instead, the adoptive family is certified to adopt through a home study. A child, from Arizona or from around the country, can come to live in your home and after six months your family can legally adopt.

Adopting a child out of the foster care system is less expensive than private adoption. The adoption process also moves more quickly.

Can You Be the Answer to a Foster Child’s Prayer?

Building Arizona Families invites you to consider adopting a foster child. Remember, contrary to what many people believe, you do not have to foster to adopt AZ foster children. We will help you walk through the direct adoption of children in the foster care system.

You will be blessed by having a precious child to love, and you will change the life of a foster child forever. If you would like more information on the foster child adoption process, find out more HERE.

We also invite you to attend one of our informative adoption seminars. You can reach out to Ixcel Baca, Program Coordinator, directly and ask any questions you might have. Ixcel would love to hear from you! You can reach Ixcel at (623) 696-9537 or by e-mailing her at [email protected].

It is our responsibility to save the lives of thousands of children in foster care, and we can do this with the foster to adopt in AZ program at Building Arizona families, find out more HERE.

Chapter 4: Protecting Children

Challenging Misinformation About Arizona Foster Child Adoption Process

There is a lot of information out there about the Arizona foster child adoption process. Some of the information is accurate, and some of it is inaccurate. Building Arizona Families is a licensed Arizona adoption agency that has been specializing in helping Arizona families adopt foster children for over 10 years, with many of the staff having adopted children or been adopted themselves. Because we have a personal connection to the child adoption process, we are passionate about making sure that complete, accurate information is available to families who are interested in adoption. One common misperception is that families must foster to adopt AZ foster children. This is absolutely not accurate. To adopt a foster child, the child adoption process in Arizona does not include the requirement to become foster care certified first. Families can be certified to adopt and move directly though the foster child adoption process without involvement in foster care.

Arizona Foster Child Adoption Process

The foster child adoption process includes choosing a licensed adoption agency that is a match for your family’s needs and has your best interests at heart. An application will then be required. Once reviewed and accepted, the next step is a home study, which evaluates the environment the child will be raised in to meet state requirements. There is a selection process to identify the foster children you believe are a match for your family. Once those foster child adoption selection parameters are agreed upon, you will wait to be selected and for a placement. The child or children will come to live in your home for approximately six months, and if the placement is a match, your family can proceed to legal adoption.

Foster Child Adoption Costs

One of the benefits of adopting a foster child is that the adoption cost is much lower than other types of adoption. One specific adoption cost is the fee for a home study through a licensed adoption agency. You can read more about the Arizona foster child adoption process and costs HERE. Additionally, there are adoption financial assistance resources available. You can read more about those resources HERE.

Building Arizona Families is passionate about the opportunity to help the process move from foster to adopt AZ children and children from around the US. Adoptive families must reside in Arizona to be eligible for the Forever Families program, but foster children from around the US are eligible.

A True Building Arizona Families Foster Child Adoption Process – From Foster to Forever!

Jessica knew about adoption — she was adopted at birth.  Her adoptive mother told Jessica that she was born of her heart, not of her womb. Jessica always knew she would adopt children who needed someone to love them. When Jessica and Chris found out they couldn’t conceive, they immediately began the process of finding a child who needed to be loved. That is when they found Raiden and welcomed him into their forever family.  Raiden was the missing piece of their forever family. Watch a short clip of their story HERE.
