Foster to Adopt AZ Foster Children to Protect Them from the Rise of Abuse

The COVID-19 lockdown has not only changed the daily lives of people around the world but has also made home life much more dangerous for many children in at-risk family settings. During times of heightened stress like we are experiencing now, child abuse and domestic violence cases begin to drastically increase, and children in the foster care system are especially vulnerable. Since the coronavirus pandemic, schools have shut down, and foster children do not have regular contact with people and teachers like they once did.  The checks and balances of extra vigilance from other people are now unavailable.

Loving Arizona families can adopt foster children from anywhere in the United States.  The lives of foster children are always difficult, but they are especially difficult right now. Did you know that at any given time in our country, there are almost half a million children in foster care? Can you open your heart and home to provide a loving, safe, and stable home for foster children around the U.S.?  And keep in mind that you do not have to foster to adopt AZ children or foster children anywhere else in the country.  You can directly adopt children from the foster care system without becoming a foster parent first.

At Risk Children are Facing More Dangerous Circumstances Due to the Pandemic

The spike in domestic violence as a result of the increased stress from the pandemic has resulted in increases in child abuse and neglect. When America was required to stay home to stay safe, this was not the case for the thousands of U.S. children who fall victim to abuse and neglect behind closed doors.

At risk children who show up to school with bruises, poor hygiene, poor nutrition, and unhealthy psychosocial behaviors are usually monitored through daily interactions with teachers, school staff, and school program leaders. Teachers were able to keep an eye out for these children and are mandated reporters when abuse or neglect is a concern. But now, with the majority of schools shifting to an online format, these children are no longer being watched over to ensure their safety at home. At risk children could also rely on receiving meals during the school day, and without these meals, they may not be given the proper nutrition in their homes. Workers and volunteers are working diligently to keep the at risk children they are aware of protected and safe, but sadly this is an unrealistic expectation without a network of people watching out for these vulnerable children. This means that it could take something drastic for professionals to be alerted to the abuse and neglect occurring in at risk homes around the U.S.  For the hundreds of thousands of children already in foster care as a result of abuse and neglect, Building Arizona Families provides Arizona families the path to direct adoption of foster children from around the country, without the need to foster to adopt in Arizona.

No Need to Foster to Adopt AZ Children – Direct Adoption is Possible

Adopt Foster Kids in Arizona Facing Aging Out During the Pandemic

Aging out of the foster care system without ever being adopted is just heartbreaking. As the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted families willing to open their hearts and homes, the numbers are rising. When a teenager ages out of the foster care system, their chances of homelessness, drug use, pregnancy, and incarceration rise significantly. In the current pandemic, when these teenagers face the world alone, they face a massive drop in available jobs, an unsure education system, and assistance programs that are becoming inundated.  To protect them from facing the harsh realities of being alone in the world, we encourage Arizona families to adopt foster kids in Arizona and around the United States.

Teenagers in Foster Care are Facing Frightening Times Now More Than Ever

A teenager that is reaching the age of 18 begins to think of their life after foster care. Where will they live? Where will they get their next meal? How will they maintain a job? There is an endless list of questions that run through a teen’s mind when facing the end of foster care. But due to recent societal concerns, aging out of the foster care system has become an even more frightening experience.

Foster children in Arizona and around the United States face heart-breaking living conditions once they turn 18 and legally become an adult. Building Arizona Families, our local Arizona adoption agency, advocates for Arizona families to adopt foster kids in Arizona or anywhere around the United States to give a teenager the loving home and consistent relationships that they have hoped for. This is a chance Bianca Bennett would have been forever thankful for if she were given an opportunity to grow up with a forever family instead of aging out.

Bianca Bennett entered the foster care system in New York when she was only two years old. Bianca reentered foster care at the age of 13 and eventually aged out of the foster care system. Like many adults who age out of the system, Bianca spent months sleeping on different people’s couches. Because of the pandemic, Bianca now faced even more unusual times. She was able to move to Florida to attend college, but the coronavirus shut down caused her to no longer have a dorm to reside in. Bianca eventually had to move back to New York and does not know what her future looks like.

So many foster youths are facing these same unfortunate experiences as Bianca. One national poll found that 25% of foster youth at the critical aging out phase are experiencing food insecurity, 40% are being forced to move, and 33% only have enough money to cover living costs for a week or less. We can help these youths in foster care! Through our Forever Families U.S. Foster Adoption Program, we can assist Arizona families who want to adopt foster kids in Arizona or around the U.S. Building Arizona Families encourages any family who is wanting to grow to consider blessing a kid’s life forever and adopt foster teens. Learn more about the Forever Families U.S. Foster Adoption Program, HERE.

Adopting Foster Children Before They Age Out of Foster Care System

Over 20,000 young adults age out of the foster care system each year in the United States. Aging out of the foster care system means a child turned 18 and was never given the opportunity to have a loving and full life with an adoptive family. In Arizona, there are currently over 900 teenagers about to age out of foster care who will face the scary realities in the world alone. Teenagers that age out of the foster care system face devastating life experiences. Many find themselves in a life full of drugs, abuse, and homelessness, ill-equipped for the dangers of the world. Adopting foster children can help children or teens change their lives, grow in a healthy and loving environment, and enjoy a prosperous adult life.

Foster Kids are Big Dreamers and Have Beautiful Aspirations Too

Did you know over 70% of foster youth around the age of seventeen aspire to go to college? Even though they have experienced many heartbreaking situations, 70% of foster kids are passionate about changing their life and making a difference. Though the odds are stacked against teens in foster care, every teenager deserves the opportunity to follow their dreams and feel supported. Over 13,000 foster children in Arizona right now are questioning what their future holds. You can provide the opportunity for one or more of these children to be surrounded with love, support, and safety in their homes.

The Scary Realities of Aging Out of Foster Care

Up to 36% of youths who age out of foster care become homeless during the transition to adulthood. Many of these teenagers have suffered post-traumatic stress by being removed from their biological family and constantly moving from one set of unfamiliar people and places to another, some for their entire childhood until they age out of foster care at 18 years old.

71% of teenagers who were never adopted by a forever family will make less than $25,000 a year. The struggle to have stable employment is drastically impacted by education level, lack of reliable transportation, lack of references, and experience due to circumstances teens face in foster care.

7 in 10 girls who age out of foster care will become pregnant before the age of 21. This incredibly high number of unplanned pregnancies is related to factors girls growing up in foster care have experienced including abuse, neglect, poverty, family disruption, and general instability.

Children who experience life in foster care, especially ones who sadly age out, have a very high likelihood of developing a substance use dependence. According to research, it is believed that 1 out of 2 young adults who age out of foster care will struggle with addiction. Foster youth who have aged out also have a much higher chance of becoming incarcerated.

How the Forever Families U.S. Program at Building Arizona Families can Change Lives

Thousands of youth all over the country are quickly approaching the day they turn 18 and age out of the foster care system.  They need a loving family now. Building Arizona Families, a licensed, non-profit adoption agency in Arizona, offers the Forever Families U.S. Program to facilitate the adoption of foster children by families living in Arizona. Starting this journey can begin to change the lives of foster kids and teens.

This program gives Arizona adoptive families the possibility to adopt foster children through direct adoption placement without becoming foster-certified. It is a less expensive and faster adoption process than private adoption. Find out more information about the foster adoption program requirements, fees, and time frame for the Forever Families U.S. Program at Building Arizona Families, HERE.

Adopt Foster Children in Arizona or Around the U.S. to Provide Crucial Nurturing

Adopt foster children in Arizona or around the U.S. to provide essential nurturing all children need to grow up to be amazing adults. Children begin to understand the world around them through the relationships they experience with parents, loved ones, and caregivers. Children are continually developing physically, emotionally, socially, behaviorally, and intellectually. Children in foster care have the incredibly challenging task of developing into healthy adults with the life they are experiencing. On average, foster children move homes 2-3 times per year.  Some change foster families that they have begun to build relationships with, some change group homes.  It often means changing schools, so a changing of teachers and friends is also a factor.

There is little that remains the same for foster children.  A safe, stable, and nurturing forever home is essential to a child’s fundamental development. When you adopt Arizona foster children or foster children around the U.S. in need of a forever family, you are giving them the opportunity to have a positive life and develop appropriately-as all children should have the opportunity to do.

Qualities of Relationships and Environments Make a Difference in a Child’s Life

Children need loving environments and healthy relationships in their life. Safety, stability, and feeling nurtured should be the foundation for every child. Sadly, children in foster care are not always provided the care they truly need.

The three critical qualities needed for children to develop healthily are-

Safety: The extent to which a child is free from fear and secure from physical or psychological harm in their environment.

Stability: The predictability and consistency in a child’s relationships and living environment.

Nurturing: Children need physical, emotional, and developmental needs met with sensitivity and consistency.

Adopting Arizona foster children or foster children from around the U.S. gives children in foster care a life full of love and hope. Not only does adopting a foster child bless their life forever, but it will also positively change the type of person they grow up to be. Adopting Arizona foster children changes a life that is often full of sadness, emptiness, and fear into a stable, loving platform that they can spring into the future with.

Bless a Child With a Miracle and Adopt Arizona Foster Children

The holiday season was filled with family traditions, special dinners, and spending time with the ones you love. Many children in foster care did not have the opportunity to enjoy these holiday celebrations. By adopting foster children in Arizona, you can bless a child with a miracle! During this new year, remember the children that were left behind as we enjoyed special holiday celebrations, presents under the tree, and our forever families.

Make 2020 Holidays Bright by Adopting Foster Children in Arizona

The foster care system makes loving attachment very difficult. Children can be very lonely and really struggle without the security of a family. During the holidays, family memories can be especially painful for children who have suffered abuse and neglect, as they contrast what they had, don’t have, and what children at school have. It’s hard to even imagine the hurt these children have experienced through no fault of their own. By adopting foster children in Arizona, new family traditions can be created, and the pain can begin to disappear. As foster children become part of their new, loving, forever family the journey toward healing and wholeness begins.

Please consider adopting a foster child – there are hundreds of thousands of foster children in the U.S. and over 13,000 in Arizona alone! A child’s life is truly changed through the miracle of forever families. Will you consider starting the journey to adopt a foster child in Arizona? And if you can’t, please share the message with those around you. We should not have orphaned children right here in our own Arizona backyard. Giving a child a life with happiness and joy is truly a miracle.

Jessica and Chris Filled the Missing Piece in Their Family by Adopting a Foster Child in Arizona

Jessica and Chris are Arizonans who were able to change the life of a foster child forever. You can watch them share their adoption journey on our Youtube Channel, HERE. In the video, Jessica shares that she was adopted at birth. Her mother would always tell her she was not born in her womb, but her heart. Jessica knew one day she wanted to bless the life of a child in need and give them a forever family. After Jessica and Chris learned they were not able to conceive a child, they immediately knew adoption was the way they would fill the missing piece in their family. And that missing piece was Raiden.

“Raiden was an answer to our prayers. We couldn’t have asked for a better blessing,” gushed Chris. Chris also shares that times may not have always been easy, but they were fortunate enough to have Building Arizona Families walking them through the adoption process. Raiden was living in the foster care system in Texas, and Building Arizona Families was able to connect Chris, Jessica, and Raiden and provide the support and guidance needed while adopting Raiden.

Building Arizona Families Helps Connect Forever Families

No matter the adoption journey, whether it’s an Arizona family adopting Arizona foster children or foster children anywhere in the US, adoption is always beautiful! Protecting Foster Children with American Adoptions

Children and teens in foster care can get caught in a heartbreaking cycle of instability and loneliness. Moving from place to place an average of 3-4 times per year, sometimes with their earthly belongings carried in a plastic garbage bag, and growing increasingly emotionally shut down without stable, permanent relationships.  As foster children move from foster home to foster home, they usually have to move from school to school, increasing the likelihood of negative outcomes.

Thousands of children across the country experience the negative impacts of foster care if loving families don’t intervene through an American adoption of foster children. Over 13,000 children are living in foster care in Arizona right now. Children come into the foster care system as a result of being abused and/or neglected. Children in foster care whose parental rights are severed are truly orphans here in the United States. They need the opportunity to have a positive, loving family and a bright future like other American children. Building Arizona Families helps forever families open their arms to foster children in desperate need of loving and stable homes.

All Children in Foster Care Deserve a Loving, Stable, and Fruitful Life

Our recent adoption blog described the ways Building Arizona Families protects families and children during their adoption journey, read more HERE. Imagine a life living in roughly 28 different places by the time you were only 16 years old. Foster children move an average of at least three per year, and many begin this cycle by the time they are only five years old. Sadly, the injustices children in foster care have to endure is all too common. With too few permanent homes available and family connections typically severed, too many children in foster care face the unfortunate reality of aging out of the system at the age of 18. At that point, the list of risks significantly increase.

Instead of allowing these American children to languish year after year in foster care, we can help! Families or single applicants in Arizona can determine their eligibility for an American adoption and give a vulnerable foster child the life they deserve. At Building Arizona Families, we help single applicants, couples, or families change the future of foster children with our Forever Families U.S adoption program. Every child needs love in their heart and deserves parents who care about their well-being throughout their life. Adopting foster children through an American adoption at Building Arizona Families truly saves a child’s life from further harm and provides the bright future they deserve.

Building Arizona Families Serves Children in Foster Care Through American Adoptions

We Are Their Future invites you to consider adopting an American foster child. Remember, contrary to what many people believe, you do not have to be a foster parent first to adopt American foster children. We will help you walk through the direct adoption of children in the U.S. foster care system. Download the Building Arizona Families foster child adoption info kit HERE.

Single Women and Men can Change the Lives of Arizona Foster Children

Over 13,000 Arizona foster children are living in foster care right now, and over 400,000 children are living in foster care in the United States. Unfortunately, foster children move an average of 4 – 6 times per year from foster home to foster home. This means vulnerable children can’t develop loving, stable relationships, and they often switch schools when they move as well.  That’s not counting the number of children who enter foster care and are sent back home only to re-enter the system again within the same year as a result of dangerous abuse and/or neglect.  The end result of all of this movement is that foster children, who are already traumatized as a result of abuse, grow up without the healing love of a family.  If the children “age out” of the system at 18, having never been adopted, they are at a much higher risk of drug use, homelessness, and mental health issues.

The need for loving forever families is urgent.  Married couples and single people alike can be eligible to adopt children in foster care. These children who have already suffered so much are in desperate need of loving, stable homes where they can grow to become confident and successful adults.

Single Applicants are Encouraged to Adopt Arizona Foster Children

Single men and women can adopt Arizona foster children. An individual living in Arizona does not need to be foster care certified to adopt foster children in Arizona.  They can be certified to adopt through a successful home study. For approximately six months, the child will be welcomed into the home and then can be legally adopted. Learn more about the requirements to adopt Arizona foster children HERE.

The majority of foster children are five years of age or older. In some cases, younger children are available to be adopted. There are also sibling groups or children who have a higher level of need who are waiting to be adopted. All children in the foster system deserve to feel the stability and love of a forever family. Download our Adopting Foster Children Information Guide HERE.

We Need Men and Women to Make a Difference in the Lives of Foster Children in Arizona

Foster children need reliable and safe adults to help turn their life away from loneliness, abuse, and/or neglect. Foster children can have difficult times forming and creating bonds with safe and supportive adults. Parents don’t have to be perfect, but they have to be safe and loving to help a foster child heal and grow into a life of purpose and trust.

Adopt Foster Children in Arizona to Start a Momentous School Year

The start of the new school year is here, and many kids are excitedly starting this new adventure. Shopping for new school clothes and supplies, meeting new friends, and learning new things is what most kids are thinking about at the beginning of the school year. Unfortunately, every year there are foster children scared of a new start, maybe wearing old clothes or not prepared with supplies. Every child deserves to enjoy these milestone moments.  Adopting foster children in Arizona can provide the stability, security, and loving support needed to be successful in school.

Children Shouldn’t Start the School Year Off Scared and Alone

The first day of school can make any child nervous. Imagine showing up on the first day of school without the love and support from a parent or the security of a stable home. Foster children change homes/schools on average one to two times per year, losing on average 4-6 months of academic progress each time.  When they move foster homes, they often carry all of their worldly possessions in a plastic garbage bag. They have already faced negativity, loneliness, abuse and/or neglect. Without a loving and supportive home, foster children are not prepared for school, causing them to struggle considerably. This is why it is so important for our communities to step up and adopt Arizona foster children. A forever home changes a foster child’s entire life, providing a stable foundation for a flourishing future.

Students Can Flourish When Adopted Into a Stable and Supportive Forever Home

Statistics illustrate a correlation between the length of time a child remains in foster care and how far behind they fall in school.  Kids in foster care are twice as likely to develop learning disabilities and six times more likely to have behavioral problems. Adopting foster children provides the safe home, loving and supportive family, and stability children need to succeed academically. These environmental benefits allow a child adopted from foster care the opportunity to flourish and exceed their expectations for their life.

For kids living in group homes, starting a new school year without new supplies, good clothes, or a forever family adds so much stress and anxiety to their young lives. A foster child’s future path is limited to what is available to them. When a family decides to adopt foster children, they are blessing a child with the opportunity to have success and love.

Almost half a million children nationwide are in the foster care system.  Thousands of foster children hope and pray every day for someone to adopt them and change the life they are living. Will you be the one to change their story and adopt foster children? Learn more about the Forever Families program Building Arizona Families offers to adopt foster children in Arizona and from around the U.S. HERE. You can change the life of a foster child forever!

Contrary to what many people believe, you do not have to foster to adopt foster children. We will help you walk through the direct adoption of children in the foster care system. Download our foster child adoption info kit HERE.

We also invite you to attend one of our informative adoption seminars. You can reach out to Ixcel Baca, Program Coordinator, directly and ask any questions you might have. Ixcel would love to hear from you! You can reach Ixcel at (623) 696-9537 or by e-mailing her at [email protected].
